The celebration of Juneteenth is a multi-cultural recognition of the triumph of the human spirit over the cruelty of slavery.  For African Americans, it is a tribute to the strength, endurance and faith of their ancestors.  The history and lives of African Americans in Lansing is intertwined with the automobile industry.  Celebrate the joys of liberty with us in a new way as we honor that history by adding a car show to our festival.

Join us for all of the 2026 Lansing Juneteenth festivities, which will take place beginning Saturday, June 13 with our commemorative ballgame.  They continue Thursday June 18 – Saturday, June 20 with a special Kick-off ceremony featuring the student Essay/Scholarship Awards. The 33rd Juneteenth Freedom Festival and the African-American Parade are the pinnacle of the weekend.

The Car Show will take place Saturday, June 20 at the Freedom Festival Celebration in St. Joseph Park.
•    Registered participants should arrive at 9:00 am  
•    Cars will be on display beginning at 12:00 pm
•    Awards will be announced at 4:00 pm

There are three ways for you to participate in the Juneteenth Car Show:

  1. Come and enjoy the show at St. Joseph Park!

  2. Register to display you vehicle. The cost is only $20 in advance, or $30 onsite.

  3. Become a sponsor of the car show. Options are listed below.
